One of my friend recently asked me what technology I am working on. I proudly replied, “I am working on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007″. He immediately asked me, “What is the price of SharePoint Software?” I was embarrased to say that I have no idea and vaguely answered by saying that we have two flavours of SharePoint (You must be knowing them by now!). I don’t know whether he was satisfied with my answer or not, I definitely wasn’t satisfied. After all you are working on a technology for almost a year and don’t know how much it costs. 
I don’t take the complete blame here. Microsoft Licensing of different versions and combinations of features is so confusing that a developer can’t have the pricing info on his finger tips. There you go, I said it! I went back to office to check the price and baffled by the permutations and combinations of services offered by Microsoft.
Ok to keep it simple and/or atleast remember the figure (if at all someone tests my trivia again).

I see you’re extremely positive about SharePoint, please tell me, do you really like SharePoint as a technology, or do you have to be positive about it because its your primary focus atm?

Yes I am passionate about SharePoint and really appreciate it as a technology.
As like any other technologies out there, it has got it ups and downs!
