Atidan just released a new Explorer navigation web part for the document libraries in your SharePoint sites.
Atidan Explorer for SharePoint is a tree-view control that displays your SharePoint site’s document library structure and content in the familiar explorer type view. Document libraries and associated contents are presented in an intuitive, collapsible, hierarchical format. Explorer for SharePoint will show your files and folders.
Now you can browse through the documents in your document libraries just like the normal windows explorer! I can see it as a great addition to your document center,if it contains huge number of document libraries.

[Update: 28th Feb 2008]
I have some feedback stating that, the web part is not working and it would be great if it works. This particualar web part requires MOSS 2007 and will not work on WSS 3.0. I apologize for not communicating this before. Anyway I am happy that people are reading my blog and finding it useful, either a particualar web part works or not! Thank You.

This looks like a great web part. When I tried installing it though on our test WSS3 installation. I keep getting a “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” error. Is this web part just designed for portal server or MOSS as opposed to WSS?
Keep up the good work!

Hi Jag,
Does this Tree View allow importing large folder trees into SharePoint 2007?
Thanks,
Randy

Hi All,
For those who do not know, SP WSS 3 comes with tree view under Site Settings, Look and Feel, Tree View…this will allow the familiar view of Windows file explorer inside of the quick launch bar without a need to install web parts.

Looks good. But can it start at a sub folder level first?

Its a nice webpart.
However, is it possible to allow the creation of new folders and documents, so as to expand the treeview?
Ideally, I would like to be able to allow certain users, to add new folders and documents, to the treeview, inside Sharepoint.
Is there a webpart available, which allows this?
Regards,
Dan

I’m getting “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” It’s a MOSS 2007 installation, and both the ascx and .cs files are in the usercontrols folder of the web site. Any other ideas how to solve this issue.

This is very up-to-date information. I think I’ll share it on Digg.
